Included in Toll’s scope was the overall responsibility to lead and coordinate the JFK Airport’s redevelopment program.
Toll led major infrastructure reconstruction and site preparation efforts for several airport terminals, as well as site, infrastructure, and utility work in support of the design and construction of new roadways and parking lots at the terminals.
Project Challenges/Successes
• Fast tracking existing projects
• Toll developed a comprehensive management system to assist in the planning and development of all future capital improvement projects.
• The integrated team identified a list of high-priority projects within the Aviation Program, ranging from roadway improvement, terminal upgrades, and construction of new parking lots.
• The Project Controls system utilized the Primavera P6 R8.2 suite, including client and web applications, integrated with the Port Authority’s existing PeopleSoft ERP and SAP enterprise resource planning. This system enabled comprehensive project management and control, providing project managers with a one-stop source of information on budgets, funding, encumbrances, and actual costs.
• Port Authority managers can view status information on projects through the Authority’s intranet site.
