On July 20, 2011, an industrial accident and fire occurred in the Main Building of the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant (NR WWTP). The North River Emergency Response Restoration and Reconstruction Project has been undertaken to restore Area 5A at the North River Plant to the operating capacity available prior to the incident on July 20, 2011.
This work has been developed in three phases:
1) Emergency Response;
2) Restoration of Plant Operations; and
3) Reconstruction to full operational readiness.
Project Challenges/Successes:
Toll International LLC was selected by NYCDEP to implement a project control system based on Primavera P6 and Contract Manager R14.1.
The scope included the setup and implementation of the scheduling and contract manager tool to develop and manage Construction Schedules, Cost Reporting, Shop Drawings, Request for Information (RFI), Drawings, Meeting Minutes, Materials, and Daily Reports of a total of nine (9) contracts.
It also involves setting up user access and training for all users, including the CM, Design Engineer, and Owner. Toll also included customization of Contract Manager and creation of custom fields to accommodate DEP and project-specific models, dictionary, and reporting procedure.
Toll performed continuous QA/QC to ensure the integrity of data being entered into the system.
